HILTON HEAD PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT CASE STUDY
By adopting STREAMETRIC’s monitoring solution, Hilton Head Public Service District, which significantly improved efficiency and cost effectiveness for the management of their operations.
Hilton Head Public Service District is responsible for water production and wastewater management on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Serving more than 19,000 customers, Hilton Head PSD oversees over 130 lift stations that are crucial for effective wastewater transport and treatment.
THE CHALLENGES
Some of the lift stations were connected to a mix of different SCADA and monitoring solutions. Some sites had no SCADA.
The combination of monitoring solutions increased complexity for operations.
Inconsistent pump status and data collection lead to unexpected downtimes and difficult maintenance planning.
Sites without SCADA systems required daily visits.
Connecting all sites to central legacy SCADA systems limited operators' ability to access real-time data.

THE SOLUTION
STREAMETRIC cellular RTUs were installed at each site, integrating with the existing control panels.
Employees can securely access live dashboards, trends, and alarms through PC and mobile devices
Now, the utility can manage alarms and notifications, ensuring they are acknowledged promptly
The system is able to show pump data in real-time, sends alerts, and operators can access logs & maintenance activity on site.
"STREAMETRIC’s Solution has transformed our operations. We now monitor all 114 stations efficiently, allowing us to focus on proactive maintenance and strategic planning…STREAMETRIC has brought the ability for me to have what I need at a hundredth of the cost."
